Sometimes I Just Sit

Not every spare moment needs to become useful.

Sometimes I sits and thinks, and sometimes I just sits.

Not every moment needs to produce something.

It is easy to treat every spare minute as something to optimise: another article to read, another podcast to finish, another skill to learn. Useful, perhaps. Exhausting, certainly.

Thinking matters. But so does sitting, watching the birds, or listening to the rain. Letting your mind wander without needing it to arrive anywhere.

Some thoughts only seem to appear once you have stopped looking for them.
